If you have taken school pictures please respond
When you order school pictures is
a) your DCs name on the order form?
b) are the pictures sent to the school or your home?
c) in an online album to view?
A new company our school has used requires you order and ship to your home, but we have never had this in the past 2 years with 2 other companies that took our DC school pictures . Pictures were always delivered to the school for privacy reasons of the children.
Just wondering what is the norm.

I am confused you are concerned that the pictures are delivered to your home?
My district emails the parent a link with the child's photos. You do not recieve a hard copy. You simple click the email link. Choose photos and order. They are delivered to your home. Everyone we know thinks this is so much easier bc you can view them at home without returning photos etc. My DC's name is on the email. I have not heard anyone complain about it.

Ok. Reason I ask is had an issue with reordering from old company and they said school had to look up pictures of my DC and give me that info, as old company said they could not a) have childrens names in their files and b) they always had to mail to the school so as not to have childrens pics associated with an address for privacy. So this put it in my head and now I am surprised new co requires all this info.

I WISH we could choose our photos online. Both of my kid's photos are awful! Our schools use Lifetouch, and I don't like them. They deliver the pictures to the school, not our homes. Only the child's first and last name, and teacher name go on the form.
I don't think I would be happy with them being delivered to my home. Who knows if there are creeps working for these companies are not. I doubt they are all background checked.

I ordered DD's online but I don't know if they are posted there. I just got them last week and they were sent home.

i ordered DDs online this year. still waiting for them. I like that I was able to order and pay for online and not have to send a cheque. I am obsessed about privacy and the way we do it here...unless you have the code from the picture day you can not find the pictures.

Interesting. Most people I know their photos work that way. When we ordered it did not have to be sent to our home. I could have sent the pictures to my mom's or anyone's home. I had to enter an address. The email that comes to me has a name and but it goes by code as well. I assume the school provides the email. We get it a few days after the photos were taken. We had our photos 2days after ordering. I personally don't have an issue with how it is handled every parent I speak with likes this system. I order photos with my other child in preschool. I don't see the difference really.
Curiosity question- With the ones that are sent to the school what is the diffrrence? The child's name is on the photo package and your address is on the check you have to submit (as our payments are checks not credit cards or cash). So whoever processes the information has your address and your child's photos and name. At least with online you have a choice to not send them to your home.
