how to avoid fruit flies?

i'm actually afraid to buy fruit for the house cause i just got rid of 10000000 fruit flies! do i put everything in the fridge to avoid them? even then i feel like when i open the fridge one or 2 fly out. i want my fruit! LOL

I put all of my fruit in the fridge, it lasts longer and I like it cold.. and no fruit flies!

are you sure they are fruit flies? We thought we had them, couldn't get rid of them. Did everything but still had them.

We just figured out they are not fruit flies, they are gnats. ones that like damp areas. They are actually coming from our bathroom. We are getting them under control now but man, they are annoying and hard tog et rid of.

They are probably drain flies if you can't rid of them. Put a piece of clear tape over the drain at night, and if they are stuck to the tape in the morning, that's where they are coming from. They live and breed on stuff in your drain. Common problem. Get some heavy duty drain cleaner.

This is why I don't buy bananas. I was going to buy them and keep them in the fridge, but then I heard that turns them black. So Im not sure what to do, but i love bananas!
