Stuffing Recipe?
Anyone have a great stuffing recipe? My sister and I decided we'd help my mom out this year and make a few dishes to keep her stress level down (she hates to cook, but insists on hosting Thanksgiving ).
Any recipes that I could make the day before and still be good the next day? Or even do a lot of the prep ahead of time?

Re: Stuffing Recipe?
I start with Stove Top, and doctor it with browned sausage, sauteed mushrooms, onion and celery, add some extra dried bread cubes. It gets baked in a casserole dish till the top gets brown and crunchy.

Re: Stuffing Recipe?
My sister is going to make a traditional sausage and sage stuffing, and then we are going to try this one out too!

Re: Stuffing Recipe?
I do this basically. I use sweet Italian sausage instead. I also am adding shredded carrots and poultry seasoning.
1 (12 ounce roll) Jones All Natural pork sausage 2 medium onions, chopped 2 celery stalks, diced or chopped 2 1/2 cups low-salt chicken or turkey broth or apple juice 14 ounce prepackaged stuffing mix/bread cubes
Directions:
Crumble sausage into a stock pot or Dutch oven. Add onion and celery; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until sausage is no longer pink, about 6 to 8 minutes. (Do not drain or pour off drippings.)
Add broth; bring to a boil.
Turn off heat; add stuffing mix, stirring until bread cubes are evenly moistened. Transfer to a greased casserole dish.
Bake covered in a preheated 350°F oven 30 minutes or until heated through. (For drier texture, uncover casserole during last 10 minutes of baking). Some of the stuffing may be used to stuff turkey. Stuff bird loosely right before baking.
