Confused - PCOS related
I got some BW back this morning.
It was done while fasting, but I'm on Metformin.
Glucose - 87 Insulin - 11 Hemoglobin - 5.3
The nurse said everything is normal.
I told my friend who is a nutritionist, and she said that my insulin level is too high.
I'm confused. Anyone have any insight?

high insulin levels is a cause of PCOS. The body doesn't respond correctly to blood glucose levels and produces more insulin. The high insulin levels cause the ovaries to produce testosterone. I read about it on the longislandivf.com website.

Thanks - I know about PCOS and the levels . I've had it for ten plus years, but lately testosterone levels are normal.
Just confused why the RE doesn't want to increase my metformin.

Probably because your testosterone levels are normal there's no need to increase the metformin. Have you been able to ask the doc?

I see him Monday. I don't think that's what is causing my m/c's though... Ugh.
