So Confused- Pack N' Play related
We have a small ranch with a finished basement, but most of the time with the baby we'll be upstairs. We got a full-size Graco pack n' play that I planned to use in our bedroom as a bassinet too for the first few months, then as a regular PNP after that.
But, as we were putting it all together tonight, I realized-- what am I going to put her in during the day when I'm out in other parts of the house? Won't I need a PNP in the living room? I don't want her to get used to only sleeping in the swing or bouncer.
I know they make smaller PNPs too that DH suggested maybe we get. But if we got a smaller one, where would it go and where would the full-size one go? Which in our bedroom, where she'll sleep at night when we're sleeping, and which in the living room for daytime naps?
Thanks ladies. I'm really starting to stress about everything

Re: So Confused- Pack N' Play related
I was going to use our Pack N' Play in our bedroom until I realized how big it is and how much more useful it would be downstairs. We also have a travel crib that we got, but even though it is tiny I can't see myself bending down so much everytime I have to put down or pick up the baby. So, we ended up buying a bassinet last weekend to put next to the bed and we are keeping the PNP downstairs...just makes more sense b/c of it's size.

Wow, very similar situation!!!
Yeah, I guess I'll go to BRU tomorrow and see what the smaller PNPs are like, and bassinets too. Then if I get something smaller, I guess put that in our bedroom for baby to sleep in at night, and then the larger one in the living room.
Can't believe I didn't think of this until we were setting it up tonight!

Re: So Confused- Pack N' Play related
I planned on using the PNP in our bedroom too, then my mom gave me a bassinett at my shower. So, we use that in our room and the pnp in our living room.
We live in a ranch too and I love having the pnp in my living room, I can change him in here, let him sleep when I am cleaning or on the computer (like right now!) and I don't have to use my monitor.
Oh and my DS hates the bouncy and the swing at the moment and wouldn't sleep in them.

We wound up getting a bassinet for this exact reason. We got ours at BBB.

Re: So Confused- Pack N' Play related
I have a Colonial with the bedrooms upstairs and didn't use a PNP. When the baby went down for naps I put her in her crib with my video monitor. During the day I had her in her bouncy, exersaucer, swing, playmat etc. We set the PNP up and DH said we are taking it back. It took up a big portion of my den and really wasn't necessary.

Re: So Confused- Pack N' Play related
I will keep the PNP in the living room for when I want baby to be with us during the day. That's the only place I would need it. When baby is not in his crib/nursery, or sleep with us at night in his bassinet.
It was too big for our bedroom so we have a smaller bassinet by my side of the bed so baby can be with us at night and it will be easier when I BF.

Re: So Confused- Pack N' Play related
If it helps, we have the Rainforest PNP.
I've been using it downstairs to put him down for naps and change him and it's been AWESOME.
Last night it was so hot that we decided to have him sleep in our room with the AC.
So DH moved the PNP upstairs. What a MAJOR PITA!!
It doesn't fit through doors, so you have to collapse it and then re-click it (which isn't as easy as it should be).
We looked at each other this morning when we were moving it back downstairs and said "we need a different set-up"
So I just went onto BRU and ordered the Graco Travel Lite Crib for the bedroom.

this is us too! I actually welcomed the exercise up and down the stairs for naps and changing
