House Alarm System

If you have a house alarm system:

-who did you use to install it?
-are you happy with the system?
-did you do wired or wireless?
-what was cost to install?
-what is monthly cost?

No idea at all about these things but think I would like a house alarm! TIA!

Yes
We have both wired and wireless
I want to say it was around $2k to install
We pay $75 every 3 months

My DH does it for a living, so I'm not much help here.

-are you happy with the system?
Yes! Gives me such peace of mind.

-did you do wired or wireless?
Wireless. Wired is ideal if your walls are open. I didn't want DH pulling moldings off and drilling. And I want people to see the contacts so they know we have the system lol.

-what was cost to install?
Parts ran about $1k. Labor was free obviously. That was for the panel, keypad, 3 doors, every window, 3 smoke detectors, a carbon monoxide detector, 3 motions, and 3 glass breakers.

-what is monthly cost?
DHs typical monthly monitoring is something like $18.

very much so

wired mixed with motion detectors
-what was cost to install?
about $1300
-what is monthly cost?
about $30 but we got a $120 deduction on our homeowner's insurance

No idea at all about these things but think I would like a house alarm! TIA!

Yes. No 5 year contract which is big IMO. My monitoring fees are also cheaper than the big box (ADT, Slomins, etc.)

-did you do wired or wireless?
Wired

-what was cost to install?
About $1200 give or take. Great price when I have no monitoring contract to deal with. I also have five video cameras with DVR recording, Computer IP monitoring with Cellular Backup (no phone landline needed), Glass break sensors, Two keypads.

-what is monthly cost?
About $28 a month which includes the cellular backup and the IP monitoring.
No idea at all about these things but think I would like a house alarm! TIA!
