New with a work ???

Hi! I am 9 1/2 weeks pregnant with twins via ivf. I am a nyc teacher and absolutely hate it since all the changes. I am so run down already. Have any teachers taken a break and did something just to make a little extra cash. I don't know how I will be able to go back next year with 3 under 3.

Hi! I am PG with twins too--- due May 4th. When the babies come, I will have a 4 yo, a 2 yo and the twins! CRAZY! I am a teacher as well, but am in a LI district. Like you, I don't think I can handle, nor do I want to go back full-time with 4 kids---even though I love my school, it is just going to be too much.

I am putting feelers out there for perhaps a .4 or .5 position.... I am special ed. so I could easily do a resource room type of thing 2 days a week as opposed to being a classroom teacher. The city used to do the F-status thing... which was part-time work. You could look into that. I am also looking into getting into Early Intervention where I could just work a little bit so that things wouldn't be so tight. You could also look into tutoring. I will look into that too, but it's tough to find consistent people to pay you at least the $50.00 an hour to make it worth your while.
