3rd Repeat Beta for m/c?
Last week at 16 dpo my Beta was an 18. Two days later, it was 7. I've been bleeding heavily for 5 days. My latest Wondfo was 100% negative (when my Beta was 7, I got a clear line that morning so they're super sensitive). I know it's totally, 100% over.
My OB's office called me today to come in for a third Beta. I really don't want to. I've already spent $80 on copays for Betas that aren't going anywhere (I've had 2 losses in the past 3 months). The OB's office is inconvenient for me, not close to where I live. Plus let's face it, it's psychologically tough on me to keep getting my blood drawn and told bad news. I'm done. Do I really need to go back?

Re: 3rd Repeat Beta for m/c?
Thanks. Last time, when my 2nd Beta was at a 6, they told me I didn't have to come back for a third. This time, at a 7, she insisted that I come back.
Ugh, even seeing the OB's phone number pop up on my phone this evening gave me chills. I hate it.

3rd Repeat Beta for m/c?
I'm sorry :( I too have had two in the last three months. I did have them track it all the way to 0 so I knew when I could start again (the first time) and knew when to start my recurrent loss testing this second time. If there is no reason you need to know it is down to a 0, then skip it. Have you asked about recurrent loss bloodwork and testing? My RE sent me for the work up after the second cycle in a row of a loss.
XOX I know what you're going through :/

IF you are having fertility treatments you have to. They need to monitor the levels. Sometimes they can shot up again. Also, if you are doing fertility you can not do another cycle until they see the levels are back at zero. I am so sorry

So sorry you have to go through this. They probably want to make sure your levels go back down to zero. I have always had to do that. In fact one time my levels started going down, I bleed and then they started creeping back. They were concerned it was ectopic, it wasn't but I needed a d&c because my levels continued to rise (abnormally and slow so they knew it wasn't viable).
Regardless...it sucks and I am sorry.

Just want to say I'm sorry. I've been there too many times and it sucks.

They wanted me too but I didn't. I tested until the line was gone. Sorry about your loss

Re: 3rd Repeat Beta for m/c?
Thank you everyone for the sympathy and for sharing your experiences. I appreciate it.
The OB's office actually called me again today, to tell me again that I'm miscarrying, because whoever called me with the results never wrote down that she called me and they thought I didn't know. Lovely.
