Laryngitis
I have a bad chest cold with laryngitis ...what should I be taking, until I go to the Dr. on Monday, I also have asthma, but it is under control.......

just hadthis... nothing really. on second antibiotic since first one wasn't the best. this doc gave me doxy and steroids and told me not to talk and to also take mucinex. sorry its awful!

I recently had an upper respiratory infection and lost my voice the doc told me to take Benadryl for my voice something about it helping the swelling of the vocal chords

Not too much you can take. Drink lots of fluids. Water and hot tea are great as is hot apple cider. Rest your voice as much as possible and try not to whisper, which strains your voice.

Lots of room temp/warm fluids, VOCAL REST, try to steer clear of dairy, that could add congestion to your issues, if your throat gets sore drink tea/water with honey or sucking candies - sugar coats your throat and relieves the pain.
