Can anyone tell me about this area of queens?
I see a lot of cute and quaint homes in this are but curious why listed so cheap? Looks like a nice little area

Can anyone tell me about this area of queens?
Lived in queens my whole life and never heard of it but looked at the map and it looks like Cambria heights and queens village surround it so I don't think it's the greatest.... I would stick to bayside, Whitestone, douglaston, middle village fresh meadows, some areas in flushing... But the houses are pricey...

Someone I worked with used to live there. I drove her home once. I know the area a bit and from what I know, it's not a really desirable area, obviously the prices you are seeing reflect that.

Can anyone tell me about this area of queens?
I know absolutely nothing about the area but clicked on the zillow link you posted and I have to agree with the above poster in that the price of that house likely reflects that it is in a less than desirable area. In addition, when I scrolled down, the school ratings were very low. Not sure if you have children yet or are considering children in the future, but something to think of!

I don't know much about Laurelton itself, but I do want to respond to a comment above. I don't think its proximity to Cambria Heights needs to steer you away....Cambria Heights is a nice, middle-class community.
ETA: I guess I should say that my definitions of "good" and "bad" areas tend to differ from the opinions of most. I prefer diverse towns that aren't so sterile and where you don't have to "keep up with the Joneses."

Can anyone tell me about this area of queens?
This is not one of the more desirable neighborhoods in Queens. Check out the cit data web site for more details. I found it really helpful to drive around the different neighborhoods we were considering when DH and I bought our house.

Same here.
We live in a very diverse community that I am sure many LIF regulars would not outright poo poo to me directly but I am sure in FM it's a different story.
I have worked with many non-white clients who are from those areas in Queens and they are great people.

I've lived in Rosedale, which is very close to Laurelton, and I loved it. Yes, it's diverse but I tend to prefer that. The houses are really cute but in my opinion, they are too close together and I prefer more space (if I were to buy).
