One time cleaning recommendations
I'd like someone to come in to do a one time cleaning of my house before the baby arrives. Any recommendations and an idea of cost? I have a 3br 2 bath that isn't very big. I'm in Ronkonkoma.
Thanks!

Re: One time cleaning recommendations
This was back in 2007 but my MIL paid for Merry Maids for us. They did come a few times but they also offered 1-time service. It was pricey-about $500 for that first visit- but they were there all day and really cleaned. We have a small house, 3 beds 1.5 baths. I don't live on LI but they are a chain. I never would have spent that much but I wasn't paying for it and MIL did not bat an eye. You will probably find a better price with someone who works independently.

Ooof that's a lot! Anyone else know someone significantly cheaper than that?

Re: One time cleaning recommendations
I used marine maids. I had a great experience with them and still use them. I know there was a recent post from someone who didn't have a good experience. But overall their feedback on yelp has been great

Re: One time cleaning recommendations
After Sandy, I used Steampro which is based out of Wantagh.
I wasn't really looking for them to do the basic stuff that I keep up with myself, but they did all my rugs and furniture from top to bottom.
I think they may even do other things if needed.
I want to say the cost was around $250.00.
After I read the book Nickeled & Dimed in college, I won't ever use one of those chain maid companies.

I used to live next door to them!
DH is friendly with them so I'll have him check them out.
Thanks!

Re: One time cleaning recommendations
That's funny. Small world!
The ONLY problem I had was that I think the younger brother came to do my clean.
The appt. was scheduled for like, 3:00 on a Friday.
I decided to add my furniture on last minute and not do just the rugs and I know he was annoyed because he wanted to meet his friends for happy hour.
I heard him complaining on his cell phone.
I let it go, because he was doing it and did a good job.
I'd still have them back.
