I assume you mean for the kitchen. We just got our kitchen redone, and I asked DW what she wanted, since we had the option of anything she wanted. She wanted a very large single sink. That way, even her largest pots or bowls would fit, and if she wanted to have separate soaking/soapy water in one section, she could just use a plastic basin inside the sink to temporarily get the same effect as two separate sinks.

When we bought our house, it had a split sink in the kitchen. I hated it! It was impossible to fit anything large and seemed like such a waste. DH just switched it out for me and I love the new sink. The other thing that was really important to me is that the sink is deep

How wide is ur sink?

31 1/2 inches L x 18 3/8 inches W x 10 inches D

The bowl itself is 30". The extra width is for the undermount lip.

I hate split sinks. I've never had one in my houses but have used them in other homes before. JMO, but I don't see the point.

same here. i originally thought i wanted a double sink and my mom talked me out of it, thank goodness! i got 30" single sink and everything can be washed in it with no trouble. and i have room when i need things separated, like if something is being defrosted etc.

Re: 1 bowl sink or 2

I would go large, deep single sink.... growing up I had a double sink and it was more of a pain then it was worth. Always a hassle with large pots/dishes and didn't really serve a purpose!

I hate my double sink!! pita to clean anything large

They do make a double sink there the center is lower than the rest, which makes cleaning large items easier. But I don't get why you need 2?

I wish I had 1 huge sink!

Good idea Golden Rod re the basin in the large sink. We at Kitchen Designs find most clients are happy with their single large bowl sink.
