Time Estimate for Renovations
For a very rough estimate - how long would it take to do the following renovations with professionals:
-bathroom - gut and replace. Let's assume not moving any fixutres and a pretty 'standard' 3 piece bathroom. Does 1-2 weeks sound right?
-basement - unfinished into finished space or redoing a finished space. Walls, flooring, ceiling, paint. Does 2 weeks sound right?
-kitchen - gut and replace. Does 3-4 weeks sound right?
Assume pretty standard cabinets, counters, etc. I don't think we'd look to have something custom or anything like that.

Re: Time Estimate for Renovations
Once they are in there and actually starting the work, I think these are decent estimates.
I may add on an extra few weeks though because it seems like renos never go according to plan.
Especially keep in mind if there are multiple contractors involved.

Time Estimate for Renovations
I can give you info on a kitchen as we are doing ours shortly - The big companies (allure for example) said 6-8 weeks to gut, knock down walls, move windows and redo kitchen and flooring We spoke with a private contractor who said 3 weeks
My guess is it will end up being 5-6 weeks

Re: Time Estimate for Renovations
I've done bathrooms and a basement, I'd say your estimates are close, but I'd factor in a few extra days.

Tks. DH is going to be doing most of the work, and since I'm like the shoemaker's kid with no shoes, I am planning for the longer route.
There are pros and cons to going with both a bigger and smaller contractor.
Good luck and post pics!

Wow that's great! They told us 6-8 weeks (we met with them about 6 weeks ago) Maybe it's bc of how labor intensive our renovation is going to be.
