two part question re: rice crispie treats
1. I want to make them in advance... How long in advance could I do this? How would I store them?
2. I want to make them into Mickey. What is the best way to do this to avoid waste?
Thanks!

two part question re: rice crispie treats
I think one or two days in advance is ok. Can you find a Mickey cookie cutter? I made ghost rice Krispy treats - I spread the Rice Krispies on a sheet pan, cut them immediately. I took the scraps and was able to respread and cut more. Just needs to be done right away and quickly!!

Re: two part question re: rice crispie treats
Krispy Treats get hard and not good fast. I wouldn't make them more than a day in advance. I also find if I add more marshmallows they come out chewier and last longer.

Re: two part question re: rice crispie treats
I msde mickey ones for my twins 1st birthday. they get hard fast, I wouldn't do more than a day in advance. I wrapped them and then put the wrapped bags in a Tupperware.
I used a mickey cookie cutter and while the mix was warm I stuffed it into the cookie cutter. it was easier for me than trying to cut the shapes out. I just warmed it quick when it got hard.

two part question re: rice crispie treats
I just made heart shaped ones for Valentine's Day; I made them the night before. I spread the mix out onto a 11x17 rimmed baking sheet. I let them cool and then used a cookie cutter to cut them. I dipped the ends in chocolate, let that set, then I bagged them individually. They were fine the day after.

Yes, but I'd like to avoid as much waste as possible because I need to make them in bulk.
