Restaurant for a celebration in the Flusing Area
I need to take an elderly relative for an early dinner on Sunday. She lives right off of Utopia Parkway, very close to St John's. The problem is she uses a cane and can't walk very far. Any suggestions for a restaurant where it will be easy to get her in and out of a car? And believe it or not, she doesn't like Italian.

That's really hard because of the snow parking is tough and getting around is even harder. Does she like Chinese? There is a place on Union and I think 192nd Street called Red House. SO GOOD!!!!! There is usually parking on the side street.

im from that area!
italian- acquista on 178th and union tpke- small but food is delicious
american- sly fox inn. they have parking in the back also on 178th and union tpke.. Acquista and sly fox are both on the corner
chinese- Peking house on 186th and union tpke- very very friendly and their menu has more than your typical chinese place
sushi-Kyoto on 153rd street and Union tpke- super fresh, place is pretty inside and they also have thai food

We order from Kyoto all the time! SO GOOD! And I forgot about the Sly Fox!! Good calls Barbara!!!!

sorry just read she doesnt like Italian. in that area I would suggest sly fox inn. its been there forever and you can park in the back. One of my offices is on union tpke and people do NOT shovel. the side streets are a disaster.

is red house the place you were telling me about? i have to try it! i got shrimp with walnuts at a place by me ( to go) and i get home and find out al the ingredients are in sep. containers and instead of honey sauce they gave me a quart of MAYO.
so i had dry chinese food that i had to assemble myself for 25$ lol
sorry im a notorious hijacker!

I loooove aquistas!!! But Sly Fox is good, too. If she doesn't like Italian, it's a good alternative.

Thanks for the suggestions. We normally do Sly Fox, but was looking for something different. Maybe it will have to be Italian, as she probably won't do Chinese.

you can always do greek in Bayside
Theres Mythos on northern blvd and i think 192nd street?
i LOVE la Baraka 255th street and Northern blvd its french moroccan.. i cant say enough good things about the food and service. the owners ( husband/wife) take such pride in everything they do!
thai/french - Bonne Saison on bell blvd and 40th ave
Indian - Agra 213-35 39th Ave off of bell blvd
if you want fine dining, I know you mentioned no Italian, but this place is so special. My absolute favorite in Eastern Queens Il Toscano in Douglaston right next to the LIRR

So funny. I was just thinking about Il Toscano, think this might be our best bet.
