Cleaning the INSIDE of your dishwasher?
My dishwasher smells funky. Is there a product I can use to clean it?

Cleaning the INSIDE of your dishwasher?
I use a dishwasher cleaner every couple of months. But I noticed that it wasn't really helping. Then I noticed that under the door there was a buildup of stuff. I have to wipe that out by hand because it doesn't clean when the DW is running it doesn't get that area.

Once every six months or so I run the dish washer empty. I also rinse all food from all dishes before putting them in the dishwasher so no large food items are on the dishes, just some lighter stains. If you leave food on the dishes you will get a smelly dishwasher.

First, I'd pull out the bottom rack and check that there's no food stuck down at the bottom.
Clean all around the door, where the water/detergent don't hit...where the door hinge is, outside of the seal on the sides, etc.
Then run a hot cycle with a cup of white vinegar.
I've never done it, but have heard people swear by using a packet of unsweetened KoolAid lemonade in a hot cycle. The citric acid is supposed to clean the interior.

Every month or so, I run a cycle with just a 1/2 cup of Borax.

You can also try white vinegar.
