For those who are grossed out by nail salons (which I totally understand), do you do your own nails? How do you apply apply to your left hand if you are right handed?

Re: Spinoff: Nail Salon Cleanliness
I have been painting my nails for so long that it's not hard. But it does help to have remover on hand.

Re: Spinoff: Nail Salon Cleanliness
I don't mind nail salons for my nails, but the toe nail fungus and years of issues I had and STILL have with it were enough to keep me away from salon pedicures ever. My podiatrist really opened my eyes to it.
But as far as nails, I usually do my own because 1- I have no time to go every week 2- when they do it, it chips in a day and looks like crap so what a waste of money 3- it gets pricey especially since
With practice I have gotten good at doing my left hand. If I make a few mistakes, a little cotton wrapped around an orange stick dipped in remover helps clean it right up.

I have admit that now that I have gotten a fungus from a salon pedicure, I just don't see myself going back to a salon.....it's too gross. I've always polished my own fingers and I think with practice it gets so much easier.

Practice, really! Lots of concentration. Having remover around helps too.

Re: Spinoff: Nail Salon Cleanliness
I never really have an issue with it. I loathe the thought of someone doing my nails these days. Just gets me grossed out so either I don't do my nails or I do them myself. I used to go all the time before I was married. Now I just won't.

There's a podiatry group in smithtown - they are amazing They offer pedicures last I read. Might be something to look into. It's in place of regular salons which they discourage

Practice. I have a steady hand and do my nails weekly, even French. I also love the Sally Hansen stick on polish in pink French
