Quick Paint color help! EDITED with before and afters!
My uncle just surprised us with a pro painter to help with renovations. Only thing is, he's coming TOMORROW at 9 AM!!! I haven't picked colors yet! Have to run to Home Depot and get some tonight!
I can't figure out how to post pics on my iphone but they are in my album. Excuse the construction!
I was thinking gray but maybe beige. I don't like the yellowy beige color it is now.

OK... finally some big progress in there! Lots of spackling and covering an old leak stain going on... but here is the almost finished product:

Quick Paint color help!
By the time I cleaned up everything out of the room I didn't realize Home Depot was closing in 15 min. So I'm going to get paint samples this morning while he repairs the ceiling tape and Spackles the many holes and does the ceiling. Still don't know what to go with! FH is afraid grey will not go with the tan / brown in the hallway. Which I want to change but may not happen just yet.

Quick Paint color help!
Most pro painters will want benjamin moore or better which you cant get at home depot.
Benjamin Moore shaker beige or muslin would look great in that room. If you want grey -adiago might be a great color.
What does your furniture look like? Is the carpet staying?

I painted our foyer the color above benjamin moore's revere pewter and it is definitely more beige than grey. I've found BM paint goes on smoothly & with fewer coats.

Quick Paint color help!
Furniture is brown and has dark wood. The carpet is going. Old homeowner was super dirty and never cleaned or vaccuumed with 3 long haired cats. Shudder. Doing a neutral Berber for now until we can afford to continue the wood if possible. Berber is sort of brown and grey at the same time.

Gorgeous fireplace! I would definitely recommend Sherwin Williams Amazing Grey. Its a warm grey and would go with brown nicely.

Quick Paint color help!
Thanks everyone! We haven't done it yet--the painter has been spackling and repairing the ceiling and while all of that spackle is drying he's been doing the upstairs. I think we will be going with Valspar Sand Storm and a chocolately brown behind the fireplace. I'm so nervous as to how it will turn out! Hopefully they will start painting that room tomorrow!
I really wanted grey but the consensus of my family was the brown and beige. Hopefully it will be good! At least it's just paint! I'll update with pics when it's done!

Thanks, everyone! The light color is Valspar sandstorm 2004-10b and the accent wall is valspar Lyndhurst Timber 2007-9c. Funny, I posted this before the great LIF crash of 2014 and it must have gotten deleted! We are really happy with how it came out!
