Just curious how you handle it while TTC or during fertility treatments. I stopped and it's killing me (all for a good cause I know)....I sneak in half caff from time to time. I'm not even going to go into the alcohol right now... lol.

Hazel, I am having my first cup since transfer at this very moment....I am in the "your pregnancy doesn't look good" phase, waiting on my bloodwork and this is my version of Living on the edge. Oh, and the glass of wine I had last nite. Don't judge, I am barely getting through this agony.
In all seriousness, I did go off of it for the first time this round and did get pregnant....however that's not working out too well. I will do the same next time as well.

Re: Caffeine Ladies
My RE said I could cut it out completely if I wanted, but 1 cup of coffee is ok even in pregnancy and it's definitely ok in the 2ww.
I just cut down to zero soda and 1 cup of coffee in the morning and 1 cup of decaf tea at night. I will have a decaf coffee in the afternoon on occasion.

This is what I have been doing, as well.

They say the occasional drink is ok during pregnancy. And if it helped alleviate some of your stress, then that's a good thing.
This really is an agonizing process.

When you say it's killing you ... are you meaning headaches? Bc that happened to me and it was awful. The second time I attempted to cut coffee out I weaned myself off which was way better than doing it cold turkey. Start by doing 3/4 caff & then a 1/4 decaf and then gradually make the changes until you're completely decaf. This is what worked best for me. Good Luck!

Yes, headaches in the beginning, but they wore off I guess I got more used to it. I'm addicted to caffeine, even with diet coke, but I cut that out completely. Weaning off is a great idea! Thanks

That cup of coffee must be a delight I'm in the same boat as you right now with the "your pregnancy doesn't look good". I caved and had a glass of wine on Saturday night. It does help me to relax. I needed to take the edge off.

I totally understand Hazel. I think of you often because I know you have endured for weeks now and I wonder how you have the strength to get through it all. I have been in this hell since Thursday and have been a mess. will know more later today...

Honestly I don't know. Every other day is good/bad mentally. I'm in limbo I feel like I can't move on.. it's hard to be positive when the Dr and nurses sound negative about my numbers everytime they call. However, still going up. Paying every week for endometrin and vivelle patches.. b/c they want me to stay on meds. Another sono this week.
Praying for you too!!

I never cut it out during IUIs, but I did during stims and IVF. I miss caffeine way more than alcohol.

Re: Caffeine Ladies
I didn't cut it out.... I know some people think it's bad, but I drink a cup of coffee every morning and my RE said it was ok so I'm sticking with that. She even told me that the coffee/caffeine isn't the problem with coffee... It's that people add so much sugar and cream they are basically drinking a liquid candy bar. So I stick to a cup a day and Sometimes, in the afternoon when I want another I have tea instead and that helps.
On a side note, she also told me an occasional 4 oz glass of red wine is fine but I haven't tested that out yet. I have a friend who was a obgyn in Germany be4 she moved to the US and she says Americans are crazy about alcohol. In Germany, apparently moms are given Guinness in the hospital to help breast feed! Lol. Knowing that helps me feel less guilty about my morning coffee.
