Looking for a relatively inexpensive solid color or with a border area rug. Any suggestions where to look. I prefer to go to a store, any suggestions in Nassau?

Definitely go to Kas Carpet!! Their prices can not be beat. It is near five towns but might technically be in Queens on Nassau Expressway.

I get most of my area rugs from Bob's -- you can check them out online to see if you like anything, and then go to the store in person before you order. I personally need to see the actual colors up close and personal -- the computer screen sometimes distorts them!

Kohls also sometimes carries area rugs in their home section. My mom has purchased a few from there and she has gotten great prices between sales and coupons!

i have gotten really inexpensive area rugs from Kohls and bed bath and beyond. both like $100 for 8x10, and 9x12. These aren't wool rugs or anything but they are pretty for now. I did't want to spend hundreds of dollars on an area rug for an apartment.

Thanks, we also rent and hoping to move within the next 2 years so I don't want to invest the money. My rug is 6 years old and needs to go.

Same. They occasionally have a deal on either groupon or living social also. Got my son's rug from them that way.

I got a really nice one from JC Penney home online. They always have sales and/or free shipping. After sales, I think the rug cost about $150 (it's 8 x 12 I think) and while it is not as plush as it used to be from foot traffic it has held up well.

This - we got all of our area rugs from there, for the price, they're surprisingly good quality. They're all in high volume traffic areas and are holding up very well. And, shock of shocks, we spilled half a bottle of red wine on one of them 3 weeks ago, I immediately grabbed paper towels and sopped it up, and there was NO STAIN.... you would have no idea that DH had just spilled all this red wine.
