SPD kids and birthday parties
My daughter was invited to a party this weekend. I told the mom who is a friend, that we would go. My daughter told me she doesn't want to go. I feel bad since both my kids were invited and I have no idea what to say. My daughter found the theme of the party upsetting. She is terrified of movie characters. I don't want to go and torture her, but feel she may be short changing herself out of fun. Granted though, very few parties are fun for her.

If she is really not happy about the theme so much that she doesn't want to go, odds are that she will most likely not have fun anyway...however, you could always leave early...though if both are going, that may be disappointing to the other.
