Chest flutters
Does anyone ever get a fluttering sensation in the middle of their chest? I've had this a few times I think around when I should be getting my period. I get a headache and feel dizzy too. It feels like my heart is beating fast but it's not. I'm not sure if it's anxiety or acid reflex. I'm going to try to make a doctors appointment. I'm just afraid she'll think I'm nuts.
Thanks

Chest flutters
i get it ALL the time- every time I am about to get my period/ around ovulation like clockwork. I have had countless heart monitors and it doesn't even show up as a palpatation!! I get the SAME symptoms- chest tightness, headache, dizziness. I have been told it is anxiety but I think its hormonal because its EVERY month around the same time!! Try and relax- drink lots of water and try and do a few yoga exercises to stretch! hope you feel well soon!

I feel bad asking this and you can PM if that's better, but do you have a thyroid issue, PCOS, or low vitamin levels? I'm trying to see if another issue could be the cause.
Thanks

Re: Chest flutters
I often get this around my period. Hormones can cause this I was always told. I have had my heart checked too and nothing was wrong. So for me its always anxiety or hormones.

Re: Chest flutters
That it totally Ok and I can openly share but yes I struggle with PCOS since I was 13. I am just within the past year starting to get my symptoms somewhat under control. I always used BP and after coming off it took 9 months to get a period since that initial period I have had 5 periods in 8 months all with severe flutters in the chest with the symptoms I described around ovulation/ time I would get my period (I usually ovulate quite late). Honestly for piece of mind you can go to visit your pcp and they will likely do a 24hr heart monitor and sonogram. I was perfectly fine and have learned how to make them a bit more comfortable! Feel better!

Re: Chest flutters
I just started getting this last month. It's not my heart though, it's a weird feeling, then it goes away after my period is over. I'm chalking it up to possible pre--menopause since I've noticed a lot of hormonal changes lately. I think my progesterone might be too low also. Oh, and I used to take a vitamin D supplement each winter, and this winter I just haven't really taken any, and I know my body is depleted since there's no sun. So I've started taking it again, and upped it quite a bit, so I'm hoping that helps. Takes a little while to see results though.

Re: Chest flutters
I get this. And like everyone else, I notice it more around hormonal fluctuations. Ovulation, AF. I don't have PCOS but I am Hypothyroid and I had low Vit D last time they checked. But I have had this FOREVER! Drs. pinned to anxiety a long time ago, which I think it has to do with that too. I am more anxious when my hormones are all over the place, so the 2 go together.
I have had countless stress tests, echos, halter monitor.... Nothing. Doesn't even come up

Palpitations? Yes! and my Dr. said if u notice it more around ur period it is hormone related. Drinking ice cold water helps me.

Don't pass them off as nothing. I had palpitations (and still do) and it seemed aggravated by hormones. Several years of tests always came back normal since I never had symptoms during any of the tests. It wasn't until I was pregnant, 8 yrs after the start of symptoms, that I learned I had several different arrhythmias. See an electrophysiologist, not a cardiologist.

I've had palpitations before and went to cardiologist. I had to wear a monitor for a week and it turned out I had premature ventricular contractions. I still get them. But he said that they were harmless as long as they weren't one right after another. Maybe go to doc to ease your mind
