Mother of the groom dress?
Is it inappropriate for the mother of the groom to wear black. My mom fell in with a black gown but she thinks it's wrong to wear black to her sons wedding.
Also where else can we look. We have been to
Macys
Nordstroms
Lord & Taylor
Estelle's
Dillards online

I don't think it's inappropriate - I'd have her wear whatever she feels comfortable in. A girl I went to HS with had her whole BP, MOG and MOB in black. The pictures looked really nice.

That's a more traditional way of thinking, but black dresses are more popular now.
I have been to weddings where the mom's wore black. As long as it is OK with the B & G it is fine.
Have you tried a wedding boutique? They have MOB/G dresses to usually.
Does she have to time to order something? She may have more luck finding a color that way.

the wedding is in the beginning of July. I forgot we did go to David's bridal and a bridal store in islip.

Black is totally fine for MOG or MOB, my best friends mom got a dress from RK bridal and she was able to purchase the sample. Maybe check there

I don't get the issue w/ black for a wedding - especially a formal one.
I got married in 2005 - whole bridal party wore black gowns, as did my Mom. Everyone was comfortable and looked fabulos -
The old school 'old people' get bothered by it - but really? Who cares?

My mom is wearing black to my brother's wedding in August. I happen to think it looks very classy. My Best Friend's mom wore black to her wedding a few years ago and she looked stunning!
