mother of the groom shopping help

my brother is getting married next month and i need to find a dress my mom will wear, so far no luck...

she is about 5' tall possibly a 4/6 (petite) she does not want anything sexy - very, very conservative (religious)...no jewels, no flash - classy and simple

if possible, covered collar bone, long sleeve dress or jacket and skirt ensemble that she can wear a shirt beneath if it's a low cut jacket

anyone willing to help me on my search?

tia

Re: mother of the groom shopping help

My mom bought her dress at Totally You in Bellmore for a little over $100. It was gorgeous and a little more youthful, but they definitely had options similar to what you're describing. I'd definitely check them out, but a word of advice- don't let them bully you! They tried to bully my mom into these matronly $400+ dresses and were just overall pushy. I wouldn't recommend the place if they didn't have such a great selection and my mom truly LOVED that dress. She looked like a million bucks.

My mom got her dress at David's Bridal. It wasn't too expensive and it had a jacket. Wasn't too flashy either.

This is from Nordstrom, comes in petite, and is $158. But the back may be a little too much skin...

Estelle's??? My MIL got her dress there for my sister-in-law and brother-in-laws wedding.

Also I would suggest Burtons in Melville.

True! That's a good idea. And it comes in black, brown, and midnight blue as well.

How about this one? But it does have some very subtle beading.

Can't get the pic to post. Here's the link.

thanks for all of the responses...i love the purple one but she wouldn't go for the mesh

the blue one is too young for her.

the jacketed one may work, not sure about the beads

i'll try totally you this week with her and see if there's any luck there..

thank u!

I think this one is really pretty but I'm not sure how your mom would feel about the jeweled buttons. Maybe she can change them out.
