Did you keep your multiples together for school?
We've got Pre-K coming up and I am pretty sure I want my twins together at least through Kindergarten. I don;t feel my DD will do good at all without her brother. She has severe separation anxiety if she is away from me to the point where she she can't breath and I don't want to stress her out when she first starts school. I think having her brother with her will help. A friend of mine thinks it'll be good for her to separate them. I'm Just wondering what others have done and what your reasoning is/was for keeping them together or separating them? TIA!

Re: Did you keep your multiples together for school?
My girls were in pre k this year and we separated them. We noticed in previous years they were playing more with each other then making friends. This year their classrooms were separated by a glass wall so they could still see each other. They did really well, no problems adjusting and made some new friends.

Re: Did you keep your multiples together for school?
My dds went to nursery school this year and I kept them together. I think it was good to help them adjust and become comfortable in school. Next year for pre k I will separate them. They are comfortable in the school they have some friends and know many of the teachers.
If you are that worried I would keep them together this year and see what happens for next year

Did you keep your multiples together for school?
Thanks Ladies! I've decided I am going to definitely keep them together for Pre-K and possibly through Kindergarten i think. I am not worried at all about them making friends. I am more worried about my daughters separation anxiety. Having her brother will definitely make it easier for her.

They were together for the 2yo and 3yo class and will be separated for the 4yo class bc they feed off of each other and get it too much trouble together.
ETA: I planned to keep them together throb kindergarten but changed my mind as this past year progressed. I initially planned to fight to keep them together. Take it one year at a time and see what happens.

Re: Did you keep your multiples together for school?
I kept mine together in pre-k and k. They would not let me keep them together after that, principal didn't think it was a good idea. Now that they are going into 4th grade the principal wants to put them together because they are not speaking in class to the teachers and he feels that maybe being together will give them a sense of security and make them become more vocal. Out of the classroom they are more vocal and have no issues with making friends, although they do have most of the same group of friends, since one will be in one class with one and then the next year that friend will be with the other. They also are both in cub scouts and most of their friends are in it too.
IMO, every set of twins should be looked at for what works best for them, there should not be a blanket all twins should be separated.
