Indifferent to the spotting
I am finishing up my 5th week of being pregnant and I started to spot. I had a miscarriage back in November and it started with spotting, so I was upset to see the same situation six months later. I haven't called the doctor yet, since I feel they always give me a wait and see approach. The spotting is very light but I really don't know what to think. I keep reading about girls going on the progesterone but is that just offered to high risk situations? (I gave birth to two healthy babies) I went to the doctor back in November and they checked my levels they told me everything looked great, but then I went back at 6 weeks and they couldn't find a heart beat. I guess I feel helpless but I really can't do much more but wait. Can I do any more? Am I being too indifferent about all this? This stinks!

Re: Indifferent to the spotting
I know exactly how you feel.
I started spotting before my miscarriage in March ‘11, and then when I became pregnant again months later, I started spotting again… I was very scared, but thankfully everything turned out fine.
Maybe you can call your doc, and he will see you earlier than he normally would, given your last mc?
I wish you the best!!

If youve had a loss already, your dr should have you come in for betas. You should call!

Re: Indifferent to the spotting
Thanks for your replies. I went into for blood work and a sono. There was no sack but the doctor said it is still too early. I go in next week for a follow-up. We will see but I don't have my hopes up, hating spotting. It looks like I am back at square one again.

Re: Indifferent to the spotting
I woke up to cramps and heavy bleeding this morning. It looks like another miscarriage. I am still going to get my blood taken tomorrow to measure any HCG hormones. I then have an appointment with my doctor on Tuesday. The regular OB has never given my any fertility advice. They always tell me to try again but I am not up for this roller coaster ride. I am 38 years old and not getting any younger.
I would like to talk to a specialist to see what is going on with my body. This is my third miscarriage in five years. Any recommendations?? I would like to start off with some more extensive blood work to check my hormones. I am on the South shore of Long Island. Any great doctor suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks again!
