Spotting...
Some of you might know from an earlier post that I just found out that I'm pregnant. Well I had a blood test yesterday at my family practitioners and my Hcg level was only 19. They said that I could be so newly pregnant that I caught it right at the beginning and they want to repeat the test again tom. to make sure my numbers go up. As if that wasn't enough to worry about, I woke up this morning and I was spotting. Not alot, Just alittle when I wipe. Has any one had this so early in there pregnancy?

Re: Spotting...
The spotting can be implantation bleeding...I had it. Many women have it and have healthy and bouncing babies...!!

Re: Spotting...
i was spotting (well alot more then spotting) and still am at 9weeks. I went to the doctor and they told me i have a subchorionic bleed. There is actually a ring of blood around the baby. They told me its fairly common and will resolve itself. I have to go for sonos every 4 weeks. The baby is fine!!! but i hav eto admit the bleeding still makes me nervous!---good luck!

Re: Spotting...
it's quite normal to spot...I did not spot during this PG though.
I went a few days after getting my BFP and my hcG was 47 I believe.
How early do you think you are in your PG??

Re: Spotting...
Either way you should tell your Dr. -- s/he may want to see you for an ultrasound just to make sure everything is OK.

Re: Spotting...
i am also recently pg. i actually took a hpt four days before Af was due and got a BFP went to the dr the next day ( three days before i was due ) and my numbers were 48 then my gyno tells me that its low and may be a chemical pg or a miscarriage so i was freaking out too and then i go friday ( the day Af was due) and my numbers were 141 they tripled in threee days so i would stay hopeful. And this site is great b/c i was going through the same thing as you are and all the girls on here made it so much easier to deal with.. you are not alone...

Re: Spotting...
I don't have any words of advice, just wanted to send my thoughts to you and hope that your numbers go UP
I have done a lot of reading since finding out I am PG, and from everything I've read, experiencing light spotting is quite common and normal (esp. early in pregnancy, though some ladies do spot throughout their entire pregnancies and have healthy, beautiful babies too!) So right now, I would not be too alarmed.. your hcg level may be so low because you are VERY newly PG and as long as the number increases, that is a good sign
Of course I would still be cautious and mention this to your doctor, and as the other ladies said they might want to do a sonogram just to check that all looks OK
GOOD LUCK

Re: Spotting...
I spotted during my 6th week, and had a heavy bleed my 12th week - I'm now 24 weeks and having a healthy . Def. mention it to your doctor, so that he can do a sonogram. You'll feel much better.

Re: Spotting...
Like the other ladies said, I would report the spotting to the dr. Spotting is common but I would still tell the dr so he can either do a u/s or send you for stat Beta tests to make sure your HCG is doubling/increasing especially since you are so early in the PG.
Do you feel strong cramping? or passing any clots?

Re: Spotting...
how soon did you test? Was it before AF was due or after?
I am praying for good news for you, yes spotting is very very common, even bleeding heavy can sometimes not hurt the baby and be normal...but a Beta of 19 is very low . Most HPT's dont even detect a level that low. So , there is a possibility that your levels are falling. I would make sure you get another beta blood level at about 2-3 days after yoru last one. If yoru numbers do double or triple your probably good to go.
please keep us informed...
lots of sticky vibes!!!!!

Re: Spotting...
Well, I had my second blood test today and my number increased but only to 24. They think that I will most likely miscarry but I have to have another blood test on fri to check my numbers. What an emotional 2 days this has been. All I do is cry. Thanks everyone for your support.

I'm so sorry... I hope it's a false alarm, and if, god forbid, it isn't, there are so many girls on here that have been through this before (myself included)... know you're not alone and there are people here to answer your questions and give you the support you need

Re: Spotting...
hang in there....how early before your period was due did you test? I think there are times when girls are pregnant, and it winds up not taking, and they never know it because it just seems like their period is a few days late. But these days, with all the sensitive blood tests we have, it just seems like TMI at times and a lot of emotional rollercoaster rides. I mc at 9 1/2 weeks a few months ago. This time when I got pregnant I refused to have any blood tests and just waited it out...I couldn't deal with all the turmoil again.

Re: Spotting...
Thanks again everyone for listening. JPSGIRL my period is so out of whack that i tested 2 weeks after I knew I ovulated (well of course I tested early a few times but I couldn't help myself). I tested last thursday and it was negative, I tested again on sunday and it ws positive. I've been told that maybe I just caught it really early and it hasn't done its thing fully or my numbers just signal the inevitable I did some research on the web last night about low hcg levels and it basically said that it could be low and I could still go on to have a normal pregnancy. I'm so confused.

Re: Spotting...
I can't thank you all enough for your prayers and support. As of today everything seems to be okay, I feel good and I've done some research on low hcg levels so all I can say is I'm cautiosly optimistic. I've decided I will wait till monday to repeat my blood test. By then my number should be pretty high. One more question..who does everyone use for obgyn. I'm so unhappy with my doctor right now (thats a whole other story).
