I can't imagine doing all this work while pregnant. I am worried about just setting up a nursery, getting rid of the shower doors (i think they will be a pita w/ a baby) and maybe cleaning out our basement!

We didn't want to... but our ovens died in November and it wasn't worth replacing them (they were mini ovens and our kitchen needed to be gutted in the near future anyway) so we moved up the kitchen remodel we had planned to do a few years down the road. If everything remains on schedule we should be "done" early July aside from refinishing floors and paint and the job will hopefully be done in full by early August. After family visits late July we will start work on the nursery which needs work too... We apartment-hunted in manhattan (miserable!) and moved when I was 34 weeks pregnant with my DS -- THAT was a nightmare. But, it all worked out...

We did the same thing - ours was just finished Friday. I spent the first 14 weeks of my pregnancy without a kitchen. It actually wasn't bad because I couldn't cook anything anyway - looking at raw food was horrible. I also had my MIL living with us... the house feels so empty now that she's gone!

I had shower doors with DD and they weren't really that bad. I thought they were going to be a pain too, but I didn't want to deal with replacing tile after taking them down.

Oooh, I've done senior advisor. You must be so glad to have that over! I would never want to do it while pregnant. Congrats on finishing that up!
