Expired eggs?

June 8 I wouldn't. A couple of days expired, possibly.

Expired eggs?

They're most likely fine. I usually have them as far as a month beyond the sell by date. I test them to see if they're good. Fill a bowl with water and place the egg inside. If it is touching the bottom, it's still good. If it's floating or not touching the bottom at all, it should be thrown out. Do this with each egg bc some could be good and some could be bad.

Expired eggs?

I don't mess around with expired eggs. One day maybe, other than that I would throw them out.

Eggs never last that long in my house, but I've found this website to be a good resource regarding whether to keep or toss stuff. According toStilltasty.com, eggs should be ok for 3-5 weeks after the date on the carton.

They should definitely be ok. I've used eggs a month pass the expiration date that have been fine. If they are not ok, you will smell it as soon as you crack them!

This. I usually let it go 1 month past.

This is me. Never a problem. When I crack them if I am leary, I toss it.

Re: Expired eggs?

I always crack each egg into its own bowl before adding it to whatever Im making. You will see and smell if it is bad. It will be obvious. They are usually still good 3 weeks past the sell by date. I believe eggs are a "sell by date", not a "use by date."

Re: Expired eggs?

Honestly, I never even knew eggs had expiration dates on them. Chat Icon
But in my house, they don't last long enough to expire anyway.
My rule is always if it smells ok, it is ok
So far, I'm still alive!

They are fine. Crack one open. If it looks and smells fine that's all you need to know. I never go by the date. It's really not an experation date anyway

Expired eggs?

They are fine. This is how we waste so much food because people think a sell by date is an expiration date. I've used eggs a month passed and as long as it doesn't have a smell its fine.

I agree. Yogurt too. Sour cream. I always use those past the dates printed on them. As long as it hasn't been open previously it is fine way past that date.
