Honest opinions- how terrible is the commute into the city for appointments? And how long is the wait for a consult with Dr T? Thanks!

Re: SIRM ladies

I waited 3 months.. then I cancelled it bc I was in the middle of an IVF cycle at another office.. then when I miscarried after that cycle, I called them crying and they fit me in a week later lol
They only do consults on certain days and you can go on a wait list for cancellations.
The commute was not terrible. I always took 11am monitoring appts so I either drove in with no traffic or took the LIRR and walked up to the office (about a 10minute walk).
Overall, not a bad experience and I was seen on time. For IVF, I came in a lot less than I did at RSoNY ironically so it was pretty easy.

I waited for 3 months for a consult. Then I had immune testing done and was ready to cycle the next month. I met with him in February and started cycling in March.

I work in Queens and live in LI. It was not convenient but I made it work. I really knew going there was my last hope. The hours are not typical RE hours. They are like 9-4. So I would work in Queens and get a ride to Manhattan or take the train. I would usually get there around 4. They tried to work with my schedule.

To me it was worth it. I am still going there in 2 weeks for my last intralipids appointment. I got so used to the commute by now. You can walk there from Penn station, it takes about 10 minutes.

In my opinion its worth at least a consult. At my consult Dr. T was not all warm and fuzzy, so be prepared for that, but he definitely did warm up once I actually started seeing him as his patient. I had a great experience overall with SIRM and I highly recommend them.

FM me with any questions.

I lived in the city when I was doing IVF so cannot comment on the commute but just want to say that Dr. Wang is also so so so wonderful. I had to wait like 6 weeks for a consult.

This. He is currently still my Doctor and I love him. Very scientific yet compassionate.

I have my consult with Dr. T in 2 weeks! It was about a 2 1/2 - 3 month wait for the appt. When I called to make the appt. they told me it would be a much shorter wait to see the other 2 doctors, but I declined. I cant comment on the commute yet, but I know it's going to be tough.

I cycled with Dr. Wang as well and think he's fantastic! I still email him to update him on our son! I live in Westchester and was commuting to work in the city at the time so I can't comment on the commute from LI but they are a great office so if you can make it work commuting wise, it's worth it!
