Back to this board with a question
Hi Everyone! I was on here a few years ago when I was ttc. I had my twins in November 2011. I have been thinking about having another baby.
My question is for anyone who has gone back to the RE for your second. We had male factor infertility, will they have to test me all over again? I would hate to have to go through all of the tests again when we already know it is MF.
What I am hoping for is my husband will go in for an SA and they will tell us it is no longer an issue. My husband has unexplained MF infertility. They could not give a reason.

I think you're going to have to do some of the tests again. In fact your insurance (if you're using any) might require it. I know for me and my age I have to do day 3 blood every 6 months regardless if it was ok last time around. Things could have changed from 3 plus years ago.

Since it's been over a year, you'll need to redo all the testing. We are strictly MFI and I had to do all the tests again.

Re: Back to this board with a question
I think it depends. For us, my RE said I won't have to do any of the testing again, and we're strictly MFI.

Re: Back to this board with a question
ITA that it depends on the RE... my RE just did bloodwork on me but said DH did not have to do another SA, we would just follow the same protocol that helped me to get pg with my DS.

Re: Back to this board with a question
I was at the RE for my first in 2010, and 3 years later when I went back she didn't really do any testing on me. Maybe some blood? I don't remember it being more than the typical CD 3 blood though. And we don't have MFI; I'm the problem. We just kind of picked up where we left off. The only thing I had to have done was a new test for me, a saline sonogram, because I'd recently had some miscarriages.

Re: Back to this board with a question
My dr repeated blood work. No HSG. I was doing frozen cycles so no need for SA. Had to repeat water sono and get a mammogram bc now I am old. ETA, not sure how I could have forgotten is since he was such a baby about it, but DH had to go for blood work again too.

Re: Back to this board with a question
We did the SA again and all bloodwork. No other testing. If you are going to do IVF again, then an HSG isn't necessary. Even though we did 4 IUI's, Stelling didn't feel I needed another HSG since I had had it once before.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!
