Menu help!
We are having my dd's first birthday Saturday. Can you let me know if you think this is enough food?
About 30 adults and 14 kids
Appetizers: Bean salsa with chips Zucchini squares (bisquik recipe) *need another idea or 2
Main dishes: Pulled pork sliders (12 pound boneless shoulder that I roasted and shredded - made one deep half tray) Sausage and peppers on Italian bread heroes (big pack of sausage from Costco grilled and sliced with tons of peppers, onions, and sauce - made 2 deep trays) Hot dog bar - sauerkraut, onions Fried chicken (ordered a full tray of mixed pieces)
Sides: Broccoli slaw Cucumber salad Green salad with cranberries, carmelized almonds, and Gorgonzola Baked beans Bags of potato chips
Do I need potato salad? More of anything else?

Re: Menu help!
I wouldn't do potato salad but maybe a more traditional coleslaw and mac and cheese. I think with the pork sliders and the fried chicken, those would be popular sides. For appetizers I would do vegetable platters with another type of dip.

Re: Menu help!
I don't really want anything mayo based because if the heat...it sort of grosses me out for some reason!
I was thinking of maybe bruschetta as another app...

Re: Menu help!
I agree with adding a veggie platter to the appetizers. I'd add one more hot appetizer too - maybe pigs in a blanket?
As for sides..how about a cold pasta salad since you are trying to avoid mayo?

Re: Menu help!
Def a veggie platter.
Cold spinach dip with sliced bagels or in a bread bowl for app. Always a crowd pleaser.
Also an easy side is pasta salad. I love to do broccoli, oil, garlic and cheese. Great room temp or cold.

Re: Menu help!
I ended up adding spoon bread casserole and an asian pasta salad. Thanks for the suggestions!
