Deviated septum debate
My almost 7 year old son went to the ENT 2 days ago because he snores very loud and is a mouth breather. Dr says his tonsils are slightly enlarged and he would shave them down but isn't worried because he's never had infections due to tonsils or adenoids. He also said ds has a deviated septum which he wouldn't even do anything at all until he's at adulthood practically. Now my friend is saying there is no way any person is born with a deviated septum, you have to have broken your nose. I said ds never had issues, and dh had a deviated septum which he fixed right after ds was born. Are some people born with deviated septums??

Re: Deviated septum debate
well i have never broken my nose before or even came close to it.
I had a deviated septum and finally had surgery at the age of 28. best thing i ever did as i was getting sinus infections every month for a year straight!
ETA: i never started with sinus infections until college and they were few and far in between at that age. After i had my 1st son, that's when it all went to sh*t.

Re: Deviated septum debate
That is not true at all I had one, my DD has one and many others. None of us broke our nose.
I would get a second opinion. I used Dr a Robert Ward for my DD. He and Dr Max April are in the city...but they do come out once a month to plainview.

Re: Deviated septum debate
Yes, you can be born with a deviated septum. I think for most people, it's not always perfectly straight. It's different for everyone, some are just worse than others.
