1-Hour Failed
So, according to the MA/Nurse who I just spoke with at my doctor's office, my glucose screen was "a little high", normal is up to 139 and I hit 142. Fabulous. Supposedly my doctor is going to call later this afternoon when she gets in to discuss what she wants me to do next. I feel like I'm going to cry. I was so hoping I wouldn't have to go through the 3-hour test. Does anyone know if there are any facilities that do the 3 hour test on a Sunday? From what I understand it's basically impossible to go to work after and I really don't know when I am going to be able to take another day off that would work with THEIR availability.... though I know baby boy comes #1, I really don't want to push my luck at work and risk losing my job.

I got a 139 on my one-hour and my doctor used 135 as passing. I took the 3 hour and it honestly wasn't so bad. I felt kind of light-headed for the first hour, but by the end I was fine. Just bring some snacks to eat right after you're done. I had no problem going back to work afterwards.

Not sure where you live but the quest in Syosset on Underhill blvd is fantastic! I took my 3 hour there and my appointment was at 6am they put me in a private room in a recliner.
I failed my 1 hour with a 180 but passed my 3 hour with flying colors. I personally didn't fin the test too bad I was just hungry after.

You guys are making me feel better! I'm in Massapequa, so Syosset is NOT that far from me, and if I am going to go to work after, heading north is perfect. I'll just bring my kindle and watch another marathon of West Wing... especially since I don't usually wake up until 7:30!

Quest is open on Saturdays but I don't think they do the 3 hour then. I went at 8am, done by 11, and at work by 11:30. If you go first thing, you should be able to go to work early enough.
I had a 146 at my 1 hour but failed 2/4 of the 3hr :/ But I still maintain that I was wrongly diagnosed and I only failed b/c I was sick (which I hear can affect blood sugar)

OK, definitely going for the 3-hour.. going this Saturday at 8am to the Bethpage LIJ lab (my doc preferred LIJ because it's part of her system). Anyone been there for this? Will I just be sitting in the waiting room for 3 hours or do they have some place to put me that's not out in the general masses and where I can sit comfortably?
