When can he go from back to tummy
I noticed the diapers don't say "back to sleep" anymore. So is it ok for him to sleep on his tummy.
At what age did you just let your baby choose how he/she wanted or needed to sleep.

Re: When can he go from back to tummy
When he rolled over basically, I would put him to sleep on his back but usually he woke up on his belly once he was able to get there on his own..
I'd have to check my picture to see exactly when that was six months?

Re: When can he go from back to tummy
My son starting sleeping on his tummy as soon as he started rolling over from back to tummy (i think he was 5 months old)....there wasn't much i could about it b/c i would put him to bed on his back, but when i went in to check on him- he'd be on his tummy...i was nervous the first few nights, but when i saw how well he slept that way, i got over my fears....

Re: When can he go from back to tummy
My son was big (10lb5oz) and was able to hold his head up from day one.. both DH and I are belly/side sleepers, and it figured so is my son.... He wouldnt sleep EXCEPT for on his belly... I started putting him down like that at a couple of weeks... I Stayed up half the night watching him for the first couple of nights, lol, but he was fine..
You know when your child is ready.

Re: When can he go from back to tummy
Nate sleeps better and longer when I put him on his tummy. Although he can turn and pick up hishead, I'm to chicken to do it at night bc I can't watch him. Maybe that's why he still doesnt sleep through the night.

Re: When can he go from back to tummy
Jack is real strong. I have a video monitor and I sware the kid almost did it himself last night he was like 75% turned but couldn't get all the way over so he keep spinning in circles.
He sleeps well on his back. I'm just concerned for his head. A sleep positioner doesn't work with him because he inches his way down and out of it.

Re: When can he go from back to tummy
If he sleeps well on his back I wouldn't worry about it putting him on his tummy.

Re: When can he go from back to tummy
My boy was able to lift his head from day one and he sleeps SO much better on his tummy, but I don't put him on his tummy at night, because I'm nervous.

Re: When can he go from back to tummy
I think Nick started at about 3 months - it was the only way he would sleep. IT made me really nervous, but I got the movement sensor monitor and felt better after that.

Re: When can he go from back to tummy
Around the end of 4 month, he started flipping back to belly in his sleep but couldn't get back. He would flip all night long and wake up screaming - that lasted a week and then he stopped flipping in his sleep or would just sleep on his belly when he did. Then in the middle of the 5th month he started flipping alot in his sleep and flips all night long...now he is mostly tummy sleeper. No stopping him. But even though now he knows how to flip back - sometimes he will still cry out.

Re: When can he go from back to tummy
At 4 1/2 months Andrew was flipping from his back to his tummy. But he hated being on his tummy and would scream and cry. Now he loves sleeping on his tummy and sleeps longer that way.
I always start him off on his back and he usually turns to his side for a little while and then to his tummy.

Re: When can he go from back to tummy
John started at about 3 months old. He never would sleep on his back, usually on his side. When I moved him to his crib he slept on his belly, I bought the angel care monitor for peace of mind plus I have a video monitor
