Those that work from home
I have the option to work from home a few days a week and am wondering: do you have anyone with you to watch your LO when your home?

If you have to work during specific hours, then yes, I'd say you need help. If you can work at anytime of the day, say when baby is napping, playing, once DH gets home, then no, I think you can do it alone.

Those that work from home
There is absolutely no way that I could work from home if DD was home as well. On days when school is closed I may say that I'm working from home, but in reality, very little gets done.

When LO is a newborn/infant it won't be that hard to work form home since they sleep a bunch but by 4-5 months my DS was all over the place with napping and playing and by 6 months he was crawling and 9 months walking....there is no way by that point I would be able to work from home.

There is NO way I could work from home and have a LO or child in the house. Nothing would get done. I'm also on conference calls throughout the day and it's frowned on when people's dogs bark in the background let a lone a baby crying or kids screaming lol. I'll be bringing my LO to my mom's house. Maybe visit for lunch on the days I can.

I work per diem from home also and if I needed more than 2-3 hrs a day (at my flexibility) there is no way I could do anything. It's hard enough to find 2 hrs some days.

I wfh and my parents take her during the day. I could never work effectively with her here. She has been very difficult because of reflux and now she wants to play or be on my lap.

Re: Those that work from home
I thought I could do it and it would be so great. Then I had DD. And there was NO way on earth I could work at home without someone there to watch her. She cried all.the.time. I couldn't even take a call. The working from home went right out the window after the first time.

ITA what the above are saying ... even as an infant when they sleep most of the time, it's insanely hard to get anything done. And babies always start crying the second you get on conference calls lol

Re: Those that work from home
There is no way I could do my job and watch DS at the same time, and now that he is older it is difficult to WAH while he is in the house. I WAH often but my mom watches him at her house. When he was an infant (4-10mo) we had a nanny watch him in our apartment while we WAH but I worked in a different room.

Re: Those that work from home
I work from home on Wednesdays. I could not do it if I didn't have my DD in daycare.
I have on occasion worked from home on a non-daycare day and it is the single most stressful way I could ever spend a day.
It's almost impossible to get anything done when my DD is home. So no, I definitely couldn't do it on a regular basis and still keep up with my job.
