Better late than never? Baby #4 is here!
I just realized that I never shared after baby #4 came!
HOLY HECTIC!
As a little background, my oldest son has severe food allergies and we wanted to start treatment for him. This treatment is EXPENSIVE so I decided to work summer school to offset the costs. I work in a year-round school (as an SLP) so we get out mid July and summer school starts right after). Anyway, I was hoping to make it to the end of summer school. It ended the day before I turned 39 weeks. I didn't get my c-section date but assumed that would be it (repeat c/s for 3rd pregnancy).
WELLLLL.. that didn't quite work out.
This little guy decided to come early! I was due 8/28 and he came on 8/8.
The Sunday before he was born, I was having a lot of contractions (which I had constantly throughout the pregnancy). They did not hurt but I went to the hospital anyway to get checked out. They monitored me for a few hours and sent me home at 1.5 cm dilated with baby "very high." They said to come back if I had bleeding, if my water broke or if the pain became unbearable. Throughout the week I continued to have contractions but none were painful so I just assumed they were meaningless. Friday, I was really having a ton! I didn't want to go back to the hospital just to be sent home again. I started to count and I had 12 in the first hour of counting. After calling my ob/gyn, the nurse practitioner advised me to go in. I went by myself thinking I'd just be sent home again.. well I was SO WRONG!
As soon as I was measured, I was 3.5 cm dilated. They said they would monitor me for 1 hour and if there were no changes in my cervix, I could go home. I still wasn't having any pain. 40 minutes later, a nurse came back to check me. She had a concerned look on her face and asked another nurse to verify. When she came back to talk to me, I was 5 cm dilated (AND STILL IN NO PAIN!) They said I was going to have the baby THAT DAY! I called DH and he came rushing over and my ob/gyn was waiting in the OR. Everything was so fast and rushed because I was dilating VERY quickly and needed the c/s. They whisked me away and I had one nurse starting an IV, one having me do paperwork, anesthesiologist talking to me, another nurse asking me questions... it was crazy!
My 4th amazing child, Maverick Reid was born at 37 weeks on 8/8/14 weighing 6 lbs, 1 ounces. He's the greatest baby ever!!!!!!! I could not be more in love :)

Hayley!!!!how cute is that family pic!!!!! did you bribe them with treats!??!?!?! how did you get them all to look so adorable?!!?!?!? and the outfits all match so well. love it! congrats! crazy birth story!
ps. I sent you an email girl! go check your email! you know, like, when you have time.. like 5 years from now. lol!! hope all is well!
