I have these knives - they are good.
I've also started giving Cutco knives as promotional items/gifts for my business. I've started using them. They are really good quality and supposedly last forever.

i agree about Henckels - theya re great
when DH and i were at bed bath and beyond registering for our wedding 4 years ago, we had an extremely knowledgeable person in the cutlery department who told us that there are different types of henckels knives. they have a less expensive line, that is made in China. still good, but not as good (long term quality wise - not blade wise bc i believe all blades are all made from german steel). the higher end line is all made in germany and the quality is much better.

Just saw that Sur La Table has a big sale on Wusthof knives right now (plus 5% back from ebates if you order online).
Not that I've ever used one, lol. My favorite knife is a hand me down off brand from when my brother was in culinary school. Never tried Henkels either. I do have the calphalon santanko knives and they're good but I don't love them.

Cutco. I have the whole set. They are awesome. I have Henkels too but I like these better.

I am a Henkel fan. I will give you some advice. The knives made in Germany are better than the counterparts.
Look, you need to HLD the knives in your hand. Feel them. Wustoff is great too. Its a matter of how they feel in your hand. That's the best advice. Hold them, love them, be them. You wont make a bad decision with either.
