So excited!!!!! (not pregnant)
My DH just the call today that he got a full time TA position at a school district on LI with benefits!!! This means we will now have IF coverage! We have been paying OOP for 2 years and this is the best news, especially since our next step is IVF!
Sooooooooooo excited! Can't wait to drop my health insurance and pick up his!!
Are there any tips/tricks with the Empire plan that I should be aware of??

That's awesome!! What district will he be in?! I'm a teacher also! I have ghi but I know someone with empire and the IF coverage is great! Congrats again!

I have empire and you have $50000 lifetime benefits for infertility. Iu's and the medications don't come from that $50000 just the actual ivf. My dr said it's one of the best insurance companies for infertility. Before I did ivf I did have to call them and get prior approval but my drs office walked me through exactly what to say. Let me know if you have any questions.

When you call to get prior approval keep it short and sweet. I have that insurance. Told them we tried unsuccessfully for almost a year and had testing that gave no answers. They don't ask for any proof. My coworker gets pregnant, but has recurring loses she told them this and they denied her because they say she's not infertile if she gets pregnant. Just sharing because I'm not sure what your diagnosis is. Good luck. It is incredible insurance. I've done 5 fresh and 1 frozen and still have money left. Make sure you use in network doctors. Out of network can eat up the allowance very quickly as they don't have contracted rates and can get a lot more from insurance. Hope this helps.

ReRe... Thanks for that info. I did have 3 mc so I will leave that info out when I call. I'm with SIRM and Dr T is participating so I'm good on that front.
I feel like I hit the jackpot!!!
