Which insurance covers IVF?
I'm frustrated with my insurance, it covers the diagnostic and then leaves you hanging with no cover of IUI or IVF.
I might start applying for jobs with good insurance just in case I get lucky with a good job offer....
This procedures are sooooo expensive and its not 100% sure that you would get pregnant the first time.
So frustrating.

Which insurance covers IVF?
It is not so much the insurance brand (i.e. Aetna, BCBS, Oxford, etc) but the specific plan that your employer arranges and is paying for.
I had Aetna with coverage for only diagnostic as well, then my company switched to BCBS which also only for diagnostic.
I am so lucky that my husband just got a job with Empire plan coverage and now I have $50k after paying oop for 2 years.
Civil service / gov't type jobs are the safest bet for coverage.

Yep exactly this, it depends on the employer's plan so if you were looking around for a new job I would request the coverage details for their specific plan from HR or the benefits department. I have Cigna and have IVF coverage for a total of 4 lifetime cycles and 8 IUIs with all diagnostic coverage. My job also offers Aetna with the same coverage. My husband has UHC and there is a lifetime max of 10k coverage, regardless of what it is used for.

Re: Which insurance covers IVF?
I work for stony brook hospital and have the empire plan. It's the best insurance for infertility, gives you $50,000 lifetime max on procedures also covers all meds. It includes procedures such as IVF, GIFT, ZIFT, ICSI, embryo storage... And you never pay a copay until your pregnant as long as you use a centers of excellence! Good luck to you!

Which insurance covers IVF?
I have UHC but my employer also offers Cigna and Empire. I plan on switching to Empire if my next FET cycle does not work since they give you 40,000 oppose to 30,000 lifetime.

Which insurance covers IVF?
mine only covers diagnostic too-- so frustrating especially because i actually had to APPEAL to have them cover the diagnostic to "prove" it was diagnostic. PITA!
thank god DW was able to sign up for insurance the week we found all this out-- just happened to be her enrollment week- we signed up with HOURS to spare LOL
ETA- i have UHC but they dont cover. it does depend on your employer and plan

This is also what I have -- Empire NYSHIP -- I'm a public school teacher. Everything the previous poster said is 100% correct. I used LIIVF which is considered a center for excellence.

Re: Which insurance covers IVF?
Like someone else said, it's really determined by your employer. iF coverage is an add-on and not all employers think it's important.

I only have coverage now because I left the place that I worked for, for 9 years! I knew that the infertility coverage at my new job was amazing. It was hard for me to leave my Job of 9 years but I knew that having a family was the most important thing to me, more important than my comfort level at my job! So I made the move and couldn't be happier plus if I want when all said and done i could always go back to my old job.

Re: Which insurance covers IVF?
I've been in my current job for almost 7 yrs. And it will be very sad to leave.
But if I get a job with my same salary and with Infertility coverage, it will be like receiving a huge promotion!
