question about nursery
I already have a boy who is almost 2 years old by the time the baby comes and this time I am finding out the sex:) If its another boy my husband wants him to share a room with his brother but I really wanted to make a new room for him.. My mom and hubby think Im crazy.. I only have 3 bedrooms so the last would be used for him if I do a new room.. Ladies with same sex siblings did you have them share a room or they had there own rooms? TIA:)

question about nursery
My son will be 2 when my 2nd son is born; we have 3 bedrooms-Master bedroom; nursery and guest room. We turned the guest bedroom into DS#1 big boy room; and the baby will get the nursery. we have the space and don't have visitors that much to warrant keeping the extra room available and having them share. Plus DS1 sleeps so well at night I wouldn't want them to share a room and risk messing up his sleep if I didn't have to.

question about nursery
I would give the new baby thier own room if I had the space. I would be afraid that my first would be upset that baby #2 is moving in. Plus in seperate rooms you wont have to worry about the baby waking up the older child during the night.

question about nursery
I plan on having DC#1 share with DC#2 when they arrive, regardless of sex. Technically, we have 4 bedrooms, 1 is being used as an office, 1 is the guest room, and then the 2 upstairs. Both upstairs bedrooms are large enough that they could absolutely share for a good long while (cape w/ rear dormer), and we're hoping to do the from dormer in about 5/6 years, maybe 7 years, so when that is done, we'll give them their own rooms.

Re: question about nursery
Well, the baby will most likely be in your room for the first few months anyway. I would definitely lean toward them sharing a room, but if you think it will disturb your DS to have an infant share a room with him then you might want to separate them.

question about nursery
crashing I have 2 dd's and they have their own room and we only have 3 bedrooms. I shared with my sister growing up and hated every moment of it. trying not to do that with them. If we have a 3rd I guess we would need to add on lmao

question about nursery
We're team green but this LO will be sharing with DD either way. We have three bedrooms and the third is upstairs so we're keeping the kids together downstairs with the master. When DD is older we may move her upstairs but for now hopefully things work out with them sharing. The new baby will be with us for the first month or two and if we need to we can keep him/her with us for a few months longer.

Re: question about nursery
Also crashing. I have a three bedroom house and three kids, so my two oldest--same gender--share and the youngest has his own. If we had stopped at two kids, each girl would have had her own room--that's how it was for me growing up too.
I guess I don't understand why the kids would share...what would you be doing with the extra bedroom? Unless you have constant houseguests, it seems like a waste.

My parents are moving to Florida so when they come up they need a place to stay.. I was going to make it a guest room basically for them . Its not set in stone yet though

Is there an option to put a daybed in the nursery? That way it can double as a guest room and either you can keep the baby in your room when they stay or they can get up with the baby

question about nursery
If they had to share it's no biggie but if I had an extra bedroom and the room I would just give them each their own room.,

No wonder why your mom thought you were crazy for giving the little one his own room--she wants it for herself...haha!
Well, I suppose this could change things depending on how often they're planning to come up--still, though, I personally would give each kid his own room. Anyway, what if it's a girl...then where would your parents sleep?

question about nursery
Personally I would split them up if you have the space. Especially while he is an infant. But then again, my family lives close. If my mom lived far away I would probably leave a room for her because I would want to know she was comfortable when she came to help me, so she would come back.
But we are only on our first and I have four rooms.
