Weekend Family-Vacation Spots- Driving Distance
We're looking for somewhere to go during the winter holiday break within driving distance. I looked into rocking horse ranch and woodloch, but they are a fortune!
It doesn't need to be all-inclusive, just needs to have some things for the kids to enjoy. We'll be going with another family. TIA!

We love Minerals Resort in NJ. They have an amazing indoor/outdoor pool area (even in winter). And then you also have skiing and tubing right up the street.
We have also done Newport in the winter. We walked around town, watched the ice skaters, went in the indoor pool, did the Polar Express train.
This year we are renting a house with friends and all of our kids in the Catskills for New years.

Coco Key is gross, I do not recommend it at all. The hotel is a total dump. I would do Great Wolf, Six Flags Great Escape Lodge, or even Coco Key in Mt. Laurel NJ before going there.
Hershey has a Christmas thing, as does Dutch Wonderland.
Pinegrove Ranch is cheaper than Rocking Horse, but the reviews are mixed. I think they are renovating a lot of the rooms.
Minerals looks nice like another poster said.

I always heard Coco Key in NJ was ghetto because it's close to Camden same reason why I avoid Great Wolf in PA. So we went to CT!
Idk but I went to Coco Key last year and the hotel and the place were great. Not that I would ever stay in a dirty place but my DH is very picky when it comes to hotels. We all enjoyed ourselves!

I just went there for an overnight trip/girls getaway with 3 friends. We went to relax, use the spa, etc. but we were all commenting how great it would be to come back with the kids. The indoor pool was great, and there was a lot to do right at the resort (activities like pumpkin carving, wine glass painting, basketball and tennis courts). And it only took 2 hours to get there. I plan to definitely go back to do a family trip.

We prefer Great Wolf, just went a couple of weeks ago and it's sooo much better than Coco Key. So clean and nice, not ghetto at all. It's not near Camden though, it's in the Poconos. I've never been to the Coco Key Mt. Laurel.

There is a new Great Wolf in MA. I know Poconos is closer and I've heard MA is way smaller- but it's brand new and very clean. DD and I went over Rosh Hashanah and loved it. We haven't been to any other GWLs so I have nothing to compare it to but I do recommend it.

Sorry I just meant Coco Key Nj. I heard mixed reviews for the a Great Wolf Lodge, I guess it's similiar to what you hear about Sesame.
I went to the Great Wolf lodge in Williamsburg VA which was awesome but that's not a weekend trip since VA is a drive away. Maybe an extended weekend, we did that during Memorial Weekend. On the way back we stopped at DC and my son was so excited to see the White House!
