I was advised to stay away from all soft cheeses that are not pastuerized.

if its pasterized you can if its unpasturized its not advised during preganacy.

I called my dr. and she said gargonzola was ok. I ate it sparingly b\c it reminded me too much of blue cheese.

It is very similiar to blue cheese and has gotten "moldy" which is why it tastes the way it does. I'm surprised your Dr. ok'd that but not blue cheese?

Anything that's pasteurized is ok... most cheeses in the US are pasteurized because we have the most stringent pasteurization laws... just be careful of imported cheeses that you get at specialty shops
