Try marshall's. I got a great Michael Kors dress coat there last year at a great price.
They have a big winter coat selection

I got a great coat from Columbia last winter.
It looks like a down jacket from the outside but it is made with that special heat retaining material on the inside and is thin and lightweight.
If you don't spend a ton of time hanging outside in the cold all day, but want something decently warm and toasty and not super bulky, I recommend.

I finally splurged on a Northface this year and got the Gotham coat. Worth every penny!
