Insulating the garage $$$$

We don't really have a basement, because our house is built on our garage. However, OMG it is so cold in there...I hate to do the laundry because it is so flipping cold. We have been thinking about getting the garage insulated (we don't park in there)

Is that even possible? How much does that run?

Thanks!

It's definitely possible. There's very little difference between the garage walls and the house walls. Is there sheetrock on the garage walls? I'm assuming so, since it's attached to the house.
It's a time-consuming, but simple project. Take down all the sheetrock, then put insulation up. Either the pink fluffy stuff, or spray insulation. Then put new sheetrock back up. A lot of homeowners could do it themselves in a weekend

our garage is over our master bathroom, and it is cold. My DH is removing all the sheetrock and having someone come in and do spray insulation.

We have to do this too. Our room and our DD's bedroom are above our garage and it's so cold! Would love to know if anyone has any idea how much this could cost.

We insulated the ceiling of our very large crawlspace and it was about $1k. We did regular insulation (not spray, R30) and hired a handyman to install it. We could've installed ourselves but at the time my DH was having back issues and I had a infant.

Our master bedroom was located above and the insulation made a huge difference in keeping it a comfortable temp. Definitely worth the money.
