New hire NYC teacher. Need clarification
I was just hired last week in a nyc public school. I received the nomination letter and went to Brooklyn 2 days ago after filling out my I-9 form in the applicant gateway. I was told they have to complete the background check etc. and I'll receive an email after. Does anyone know what I need to be doing now? Am I just waiting, or should I tell the principal that I went to the DOE for verification? I do have an approximate start date of 1/12 so I guess this is why. I just want to make sure I'm taking the right steps.

My best advice is: when dealing with NYC DOE- ALWAYS call and be on top of them! Good luck! and congratulations!
