Sleepovers
I grew up as the eldest of three girls and my friends have girls, so please excuse the ignorance.
Boys have sleepovers, right? If so, at what age do they start going to sleepovers, 7,8,9? Just curious because my son got a Batman sleeping bag as a gift this Christmas.

Re: Sleepovers
My DS is 8 and hasn't been invited for a sleepover yet, but I would let him go and would certainly let him have one if he wanted. His birthday isn't until October, but I'm thinking of having a backyard overnight "camp out" for him and a couple friends.

Re: Sleepovers
My DS is 7 and The only sleepovers his friends have are with their cousins. With family is the only sleepovers I would ever do with my dd or DS at 7.

Re: Sleepovers
DS is 11, and he's had a couple. Other friends of his have had them, too. It's pretty much video game based. They stay up late playing video games until they pass out, then wake up a few hours later and keep playing...

Pretty much this, my DS had his first at 10 and his younger brother 8 had one also (their friends are also brothers)
They usually have them at least 1-2 times a month...mostly video games and nerf wars

Sleepovers
My son is 11 and has only slept out maybe 4 times. Boys just don't really do sleepovers much. If they do, I would say its more often with cousins. My daughter is 15 however, and is crazy opposite. Either I don't see her for days, or I see her and 5 friends for days.

Re: Sleepovers
My oldest son at his first friend sleepover after his 9th birthday party (totally unplanned too - he and his friend scammed us). Since he has had 1 more with this boy at our house and has slept at this boy's house once.
My younger son had his first friend sleepover this summer when he was only 7. More to help a friend but it went well. He got invited to a friend's house for a sleepover bday party this year in 2nd grade. The boy turned 8 and had 3 friends sleepover...my son had a ball but they barely slept and he was a mess the next day....so not really ready for that yet as he needs his sleep to function.

Sleepovers
I think generally with boys it's more of a last minute type thing - they are hanging out, it gets late and so they ask about sleeping over. While with girls it's often a more planned type of event.
