uft dental question
I just got a bill from Cigna saying that the UFT dental plan covered $129 of the $400 my dentist charged my husband and I for a cleaning. Is that normal? I thought the UFT dental plan covered everything? That's what my dentist told me anyway.. she said free cleanings every 3 months and no copay. I am so confused when I read this insurance bills

Re: uft dental question
I don't have UFT but another NYC union dental plan. Usually the providers are contracted to take whatever your union will pay them. So for instance I just got an EOB in the mail from my union stating that the dentist billed $400 for a cleaning (not sure of the exact amount just using numbers) and they paid out $150... the dentist should not charge you the difference (at least in my experience).
