what are my other options?

i explained it very well, that i had a MC in december and ive been feeling anxious.. the lady went on about how insurance may not cover it, i said i didnt care i would pay. then she spoke to someone and said there isnt a tech there on monday night when im going anyway. (which im pretty sure there actually isnt)

im tempted to call on saturday again and say can i come in today im anxious..

are there other places i can go? i wish they would just say YES we dont ant you to be anxious. but i feel like i keep getting talked out out of it

Just trying to offer other explanations - there's been lots of research that shows excessive sonos and exposure aren't good for the baby. Also insurance won't cover unlimited sonos. I get that you're anxious - I had a MC too - and if you feel strongly about wanting a sono now and they won't, ask to speak to the office manager. Are you going to want sonos very frequently or will you be ok going with their schedule? Unfortunately most offices just aren't equipped to offer sonos at a patients whim - even with appointments patients wait, let alone people who demand to come in. If you're that anxious and think it's an emergency I've known them to say, then go to the hospital

and i said to myself that i cant be this way throughout the whole pregnancy. i think ill just wait. thanks you!

A lot of practices won't give you a random sonogram. Like I said in another thread you posted rent a doppler. You can check the HB as early as 10 weeks. I use mine all the time.

Have you seen baby at ALL up until now? You should be able to schedule an actual u/s and see baby by 10 weeks-- that isn't too crazy. Most practices accommodate that.. You just may have to come back another time when tech is there.. Which hospital/practice are you using?

i have seen it, at 7 weeks. heartbeat was great, measuring perfectly! i just worry. im a little anxious and since ill be there anyway would love to hear the heartbeat. but i think i need to relax lol!

Will they check on the doppler for the heartbeat?

My OB didn't do a lot of sonos, but if they couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler they always did a sono.

If they try the doppler, it's very hard to find the hb at 10 weeks, so maybe you will get lucky and they will have to do a sono for you??

I suggest going on Amazon and buying the angel sounds fetal Doppler. It's not exepensive and will give you peace of mind. You use it at home to hear the heartbeat.

I get an ultrasound every visit. No data that I know that it's harmful at all. I've never been charged for it yet (on 3rd pregnancy).

I would not get the home Doppler. There are times that you won't be able to find the heartbeat & that will really freak you out!

I'd sweet talk your Dr. especially if they have an ultrasound in the room. It takes 2 seconds to show you a heartbeat & in 2 weeks, you are set for a Nuchal!

so my appointment on monday is just for the 10 week blood test, so im not seeing a doc, just drawing blood.

There are the 3d places you can go to for a sono and pay out of pocket. I had a Doppler but don't even use it this time bc it wasn't easy to find HB that early. Then once it is findable, you feel baby and know its ok.

I know it's hard but I would just try and wait it out. ive had miscarriages before ( 3 of them!) and even now, at 33wks I STILL get nervous before each appt.(this is my 3rd baby and 2 of those mc came before this pg) even if I can feel him and I feel fine. It's very nerve wracking but I would just go to the appt and not worry just yet about another sono. You'll be having a big one in another 2wks!

I had Doppler at every visit but only sonos if I expressed concern.. I think I had one at 10 weeks(first visit), 12 weeks for NY scan, 16 weeks pre anatomy scan, 20 weeks anatomy scan and after that, 30 weeks growth sono, 32 weeks due to cramping, and I think one at 36 weeks to confirm positioning

10 week visits aren't usually part of the norm to begin with so I'm not surprised. You will get one at 12. I completely understand your paranoia etc, but you have to just keep the faith.
Or cry, sometimes that works too :)
