Switch programs mid year
Has anyone ever had their child switch from a self contained class in kindergarten to a collaborative/inclusive class come mid year? I am thinking that my son has ADD and will not start meds until May and may not see results until June which may be too late to change the type of class he is in in the fall.

I answered your last post but my opinion is unless you had the school exhaust all other options and supports I would not put your child in the self contained class. My school has a huge amount of self contained classrooms and there is not one child that is in there just for ADD. If you already put that in your IEP, which they would have to give you if you agreed to a self contained classroom, then you can ask the CSE to reconvene in June to re-discuss placement if needed. They can make the change at any time.
